Luke’s Nursery Tour
It’s been a minute since I’ve posted here… I became a mom to the world’s cutest little boy (IMO) last March and things have been pretty hectic around here for the last 19 months. We have had so much fun and happy memories in Luke’s nursery that I wanted to share some photos and details just in case there are any parents-to-be out there looking for inspiration.
When I designed the nursery two years ago (?!), we didn’t know the sex of our baby and I was rather put off by stereotypical very girly pink or the trucks and sports themes intended for a boy’s room. I also knew that I wanted to create a calm environment that would foster sleep, but could also kick back and play. The white furniture and grey walls are the perfect serene backdrop to the fun pastel pops of color and patterns throughout the room. We love this room and hope you do, too. Source list below.
Tip: We didn’t want to put nails in the dresser top, so we attached one strap of the changing pad to the back of the dresser with hardware and then put a small square of a rug pad under the changing pad to keep it from sliding. Works well!
Please take precaution when hanging anything above the changing pad or crib. When Luke was just a few months old, he figured out he could swing the mirror from the corner (!!). That was pulled down for a few months and recently rehung. We also had a ceramic hot air balloon where the shark is now; to my astonishment, he could also reach and pull that down. Finding the soft shark bust was the perfect solution – and a great focal point for diaper changes!
